Cardigan: Target / Top: Aerie / Pants: Gap (super old) / Shoes: Thrifted Cons / Scarf: Handmade gift from B's momma
...And no I'm not talking about Chicago. The wind in the Tri-Cities last night was out of CONTROL. It had me up from 3:30am until about 5:30am, which is no picnic when you went to bed at midnight and have to get up at 6:45am. Gusts reached almost 75mph and shook the house so bad I thought it might collapse. Thankfully for us, the extent of our 'damage' was that our grill cover blew away, but many areas around the Tri-Cities look like a tornado went through! Garbage everywhere, tumbleweeds stacked up, power out, siding down and Christmas decorations scattered. Not cool weather, not cool.
Thats pretty much all I've got today folks, I'm crazy tired and cranky, and my eyeballs hurt. Time to do some work!
Hope yall have a lovely Monday!

Pajama skirts
Hi new followers from BSSS! Welcome :) I hope ya'll stick around!
Lets talk about this skirt for a minute. This very well could be the most comfortable and flattering skirt I own. I happened upon it in Old Navy a couple weeks ago, and I couldn't WAIT to wear it.
I recently read an article in Good Housekeeping (yes I get Good Housekeeping) about one woman's dirty little secret. She would *gasp* sleep in her clothes sometimes, and then get up and keep right on wearing them the next day! While I haven't done this since college, it did get me (and my extreme morning laziness) thinking. IF I was to ever do that, I would definitely do it in this skirt. It legitimately feels like pajamas. And there ain't nothin' wrong with that.
Have you ever slept in your clothes and woke up and kept right on wearing them the next day??

[Weekend Wear] Fair Edition
Tank: Anthropologie (clearance) / Pants: Maurices (similar) / Shoes: thrifted Cons
This weekend B and I hit up the Benton Franklin County Fair. Being the midwesterners that we are, we both love a good fair (I am not lying when I tell you B was 4-H king in his day. Yup. That's my man.). Needless to say, we had a blast - I spent an inordinate amount of time with the goats (is it weird that I REALLY want a goat?) and Jerrod Neimann was the headliner. I love me some country.
We missed the rodeo which I was a tad bummed about, but we played several rounds of bingo at the bingo tent, and in my eyes, that more then made up for it. We also caught the hypnotist and ate loads of terrible fair food, including but not limited to: corn dogs, shaken lemonades and hot buttered corn on the cob - though we did steer clear of the deep fried butter and funnel cakes. We also spent some time in a really cool little wine garden that had a pretty decent pianist.
As you can imagine the fair grounds were dirty and dusty, so I went with a comfortable outfit that I didn't mind getting a little dirty in. The only thing missing was my cowboy hat (how did I forget that?!)
What's your idea of good fair wear??

Re-purposing my maxi
Skirt as a dress: Target / Cardigan: Maurices (similar) / Shoes: Thrifted Cons
A few days ago I was inspired by some adorable midi dress outfits. While midi dresses are growing in popularity, I don't actually own any. But then I thought, hey, I am the lady of many maxi skirts, so why not re-purpose a bit?! Thanks to some appropriately placed elastic, I realized why my black Target maxi is called a 'convertible' maxi. Duh. Instant midi. Looking at the photos though I'm thinking it could have used a strategically placed belt as well. Next time, maxi turned midi, next time.
What other clothing items are easy to re-purpose??

Let's make this week move...
Dress: Target (same style, offered in different colors!) / Cardigan: American Eagle (similar) / Shoes: Thrifted Cons
Happy Monday ya'll!
I'm super excited to get through this week, because this weekend, B and I are going to Sweet Home Chicago for EIGHT WHOLE DAYS! We moved here toward the end of last year, and the only friends or family we've been able to see since then has been B's parents, so I'm SUPER excited to see everyone, and do all of my favorite things that this tiny section of Washington doesn't offer (cough cough, good shopping, big city amenities, Buffalo Wild Wings, our favorite watering hole, a Sox game, cough cough).
Lets make this week move, shall we?
xo, Kathryn Laine.

Everyone Needs a T-shirt & Jeans Day Sometimes
Tee: Loud Lion / Jeans: Rock & Republic for Kohls / Shoes: Converse thrifted
Some days are just t-shirt and jeans days. I try to keep these days to a minimum during the week, but sometimes you just feel your best in something super casual and comfortable.
I have a ton of tees I love, but this one is one of my absolute faves (also seen here). Paired with my trusty Con's (you'll raaaarely see me in sneaks, but I can't get enough of the plaid!) - it doesnt get more comfy then that.
Mad props to guest model Rosie (who promptly threw up after this photo). Awesome.
