My New Motto

Last year there were a lot of changes in my life. While a lot of them helped mold me into a stronger, smarter woman, some of them brought out the worst in me. In any case, it's made me look at a lot of things differently, and in an effort to make some positive changes in my life, in ALL regards, I'm adopting a new motto for 2013.

Why put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

I've become lazy. Lazy in my health, lazy in work, lazy in blogging, lazy in chores, lazy in education, lazy in relationships... the list goes on. I need to be proactive in my life again. Last week I received an email from an old friend. It was easy to say 'I'll write her back tomorrow,' and then get busy and forget. Next thing you know its been 6 months and you haven't been in touch. Life is too short, amirite? I decided to immediately write her back. Even though I 'didnt have the time,' I took 2 minutes and just let her know I was glad to hear from her.

I'm going to make every attempt to do that in ALL aspects of my life. Sure I could take my outfit picture later (but I wont, and then I wont have anything to post). Sure I could empty the dishwasher later (but I dont and then the dishes pile up and I get anxiety). Sure I could start working out tomorrow (but I dont and then I've gained 2 more lbs then I've lost). See the pattern?!

This wasn't meant to be a resolution - more of just a life change. And I think by following it, I'm going to make better decisions and be healthier in all physical and emotional parts of my life. Its an easy thing to change and I feel a little less cluttered and a lot less overwhelmed already.

Do you have any 2013 resolutions or mantras??

  1. I don't have a mantra but I want to treat my body well this year. I've been ill for the last two years and realized it's true that "If you don't have your health than you don't have anything."
Now that I'm getting better I want to get back to where I was before... physically and mentally. Thanks for sharing your mantra!
