Wow guys, can we just talk about the fact that its December? For one, it doesn't FEEL like December. Its still mild and sunny. And secondly, I can't get over how fast this year has gone. It seems like just yesterday was New Years Eve 2011 and we were just getting situated in the Tri-Cities!

Anyway there isn't much to say about this outfit, other than it was casual Friday. And in my already casual office, I take that to mean the only day I really feel comfortable wearing a hoodie most of the time. :)

How was everyone's weekend?? Y'all getting into the holiday spirit? B and I got our Christmas tree up and decorated with all our ribbons, but I haven't managed to get the ornaments up yet - tonight probably! Other then that it was a pretty mellow weekend and that feeling is following me into Monday (which I appreciate). We played some vintage video games (hello SNES) and watched the Boardwalk Empire season finale (gah!), AND I discovered Bud Select 55 is only TWO points on Weight Watchers. Yes please. Overall, I'd say the weekend was a success. OH and I'm down 4.1 lbs for my first week on WW. Feels pretty good :)

Sometimes I feel like taking a picture of myself in the middle of the day is really a learning experience.
Today I learned that I often leave the house thinking my hair looks good, and sometimes, when I see the picture, I realize - it really does not.
Must start taking photos first thing in the morning.

PS. I swear, as Blogger be my witness, that I will get my remote and tri-pod up and running this weekend! I planned for it last night... but cleaning the kitchen, cutting up nearly bad cantaloupe, baking banana bread and making homemade chicken salad got in the way. Ironic when being in the kitchen eats my whole evening!

Boho Monday

That sounded really positive, but really I hate Mondays. Grrrr. Can we have another day for the weekend please?

Picked this dress up at Kohls yesterday. I have always loved Maxi's but before this year, I only had 2 in constant rotation. Now, I literally, have somewhere in the double digits. A tad out of control with the maxi dress addiction!
Also, Lilly wanted to impede my process today. She did well as she was in most of my photos except for the one above. Nice try Lilly. Nice try.

Bah on this weather I tell you - BAH! It was GORGEOUS this weekend... thankfully I did get out to enjoy it while it lasted, because today is a big pile of ick out there. Chilly and rainy and cruddy - oh my! Its was one of those days where I pulled the covers up over my head and wished that I could stay there allllll day. Alas, that was not the case and off to work I went.

And my sour start turned into a pretty darn good day :) First - I won my first blogger giveaway! I can't wait until I have the privilege of hosting one of those for my readers! The lovely Joanne of Fabulously Average gave away a $50 GC to a cute little shop - Plain Ivey Jane. I think I'll be putting that $50 toward the Aztec dress! Cute, no??
And theeeen I upped my mood even more by pulling out one of my favorite Anthro cardi's and one of my favorite pairs of flats. Its miraculous how clothes can change your mood.

Functional Style Wednesday

Happy hump day ya'll!

Today was one of those days that was more about comfort then style - though I attempted my best 'functional' style! I had a lot of content population, site testing and graphics work to do today, which meant a lot of sitting at my desk for long periods of time. Comfort was a necessity, style was secondary! I've actually had this vest for probably 8 months and hadn't yet worn it. I'm not sure why. To me this outfit's a bit boho meets country, no?

I see functional style as an outfit that's comfortable and easy-to-wear without being frumpy or careless. It should still have a little bit of pizzazz without requiring too much effort.
