Styling Faux Pas

Sweater: JCPenney / Dress: Kohls (similar dressier - sexier) / Tights: Kohls / Boots: Blowfish (old) / Glasses: Firmoo / Necklace: Gift

I feel my lack of daily photo taking has left me with even less posing skills then I had to begin with (which was essentially zero anyway). Am I putting on a straight jacket in photo number 2? And seriously, whats on my boot?! Ah well. You can't win 'em all.

I'm pretty super in love with this sweater, but looking at the outfit now it could have used a belt. And different boots - if I had some! I'll try again tomorrow kids ;)

Hope y'all have a good day!

Styled by B

Sweater: JCPenney / Top: JCP (similar, cant find the original online) / Cord: JCP / Shoes: Toms

So all week I've been mentioning our little trip to JCPenney. You would think it was some ginormous deal or something, but you know how it is when you get new clothes - you want to wear them right away!! Anyway this little diddy is especially cute, cuz B picked the whole thing out for me. I should mention that this isn't unusual, and B has a complete knack for what I like and what looks good on me - even more-so then I do sometimes.

We were browsing the sale racks and he picked up this sweater first. I LOVED it, but wasnt sure what I'd wear it with, so we put it back. Then, he found these cords (and in my size - he even knows my size! Keeper I tell ya.) and first, I loved the color, I have a lot of abrasively colored pants (re: yesterdays outfit) and I knew these would go with everything. B then proceeded to tell me to go pick the sweater back up, and he'd find me a shirt for underneath. I loved that he picked this tee A) because the fit is excellent - fitted yet loose in all the right places and B) the color 'goes' in a nonobvious way.

Its just a super comfy little winter outfit. B even picked out my shoes. I sure do love that man.

Anyway, its THURSDAY y'all! Only a few more days until another glorious weekend. Not that I'm counting or anything.

Procrastination

Dress: Kohls (similar) / Boots: Blowfish (last season) / Sweater: Abercrombie (similar) / Glasses: Firmoo

Happy hump day ya'll! This week has been hectic between sicky mcgee B at home and work being busy... and the apartment... Yes, ye old apartment. We put that off for the entire month, and now that B is sick, looks like THIS girl has to finish emptying it out. Its pretty close to empty at this point, it just needs cleaned by Friday at 9:30am. Ugh. We left it kind of trashed, so I'm not looking forward to the cleanup effort! Whoops. Kinda brought that on ourselves didn't we?

Anywho, today's outfit was a more laid back variation of the last time I wore this dress. Overall, it was pretty comfortable! Man, that picture makes me miss my tan though. This is the time of the year I start to feel beastly pale and I long for the sun.. .or tanning bed. I know, I know, its bad for you... but so good...

Grandma glasses

The Thursday Remix is on a break this week, but will be returning next Thursday at its regularly scheduled time! :)

Dress: Kohls (similar) / Cardi: AE (similar) / Scarf: AE / Shoes: Minnetonka for AE / Glasses: OGI Eyewear

I got new glasses!!

I'm basically blind as a bat, and while I'm a contacts girl through and through, I was craving a cute new pair of glasses. I have one pair already that I love, but I don't wear them nearly enough. I figured if I got some funky ones, maybe that would entice me to wear them a bit more, and give my poor eyeballs a break. They totally remind me of grandma glasses (in the best way). What do you think??

Don't forget to go enter the giveaway from Because Shanna Said So's lovely sponsors, yours truly included!!

PS. Hi new followers from the giveaway!! Hope you stick around for awhile :)

There's a whole lotta pattern going on here

Dress: Plain Ivey Jane / Scarf: American Eagle (similar) / Cardi: Maurices (similar) / Sandals: American Eagle (similar)

I wore a very similar, ok almost exact, iteration of this outfit back on my little Vegas trip in April. I haven't yet worn this dress to work and with the sky high heat index I figured now was as good a time as any.

We made it to Wednesday already hooray! Anyone have any plans for hump day? I plan on going home, putting on my pj's and playing the Sims until bedtime. Yep. I'm THAT girl. :-D

Annnd I'm back!

And I'm back! Hopefully.
Have you ever had mono?
If you have, you feel me. If you haven't, thank your lucky stars.

I've been tired, CONSTANTLY. Like, all the time. I worked half day on Monday and the second I walked in my door at home, I plopped on a chair and promptly fell into a deep sleep for 2 hours. Its crazy! I sleep 16 hours a day and I never feel refreshed. It stinks. My friend tells me that's what pregnancy is like too, so there's another check on my list of reasons not to have a child. ;)
I also hear its unusual for me to get mono at my age, as it mostly hits teenagers. I'm so.. special?

I digress. I've been to work for a couple hours here or there, but today was my first attempt at actually getting dressed and working a semi-full day. I skipped lunch and lasted until after 2pm, but that was the most I could do without needing a nap. Still only a couple hours short of a full day! Tomorrow I'm crossing my fingers for a whole day!

On to the outfit! This little diddy was super comfortable for my almost-full day. The top is actually a swimsuit cover up I purchased for Vegas, but its so dern cute I thought I could get away with wearing it tunic style too!

Cardigan: American Eagle (similar) / Leggings: Target / Tunic-Swim Cover Up: Target (similar) / Shoes: Target

Side note, have you guys tried these kinds of bras yet? I thought I'd hate them as I'm a bigger chested lady and typically require underwire to hold my puppies up, but I'm in LOVE with them. They hold me up great and double as a cami under deep v-necks and such. HIGHLY recommend them for summer!! Kohl's has some great 2-packs of them in different colors and patterns too!

Tribal Feelin' Wednesday

Tank: Aryn K / Cardigan: American Eagle (similar) / Skirt: Mossimo for Target / Shoes: American Eagle

Sometimes, all the stars align and you can walk into your closet and pull out the PERFECT outfit in less then 5 minutes. Everything just works - Fit, colors, style, occasion... today was one of those days. I think of all my outfits the past few months of blogging, this is definitely top 3. It was perfect for what I had going on at work today, crazy comfortable, and cool enough for the 90 degree heat we've been having. Score!

Outfit 2 - Tee: American Eagle / Shorts: Target (similar) / Shoes: Toms / Purse: $10 store in Vegas circa 2008
Outfit 3 - Dress & Belt : Plain Ivey Jane

Happy Wednesday!!!
How I've missed you all and my blog the past several days. It felt wrong not being able to share my cute vacation outfits, but I was not about to spend $25/day on internet service at the hotel. I didn't miss ya'll that much ;)

So here's a brief look into some of my Vegas vacation style! I tried to pack super light so I made sure to pick outfits where I could reuse accessories. I love Vegas because frankly, anything goes!
I will say this much though, after an amazing vacation, its SO hard to get back in the swing of reality!
