Tee: DMB merch / Jeans: AE / Shoes: Toms
Guys.
Guys. I have a problem. Srsly.
I can. not. stop. wearing my burgundy jeggings. I mean. I wore them today. And here. And here. And I may or may not have worn them in between and not posted.
And I've only had them for a month.
P.S. These glasses are fake. I wore them to feel more hipster. It was unsuccessful.
P.P.S. I haven't washed my hair since Saturday. Apparently, red hides greasiness. Another bonus for the red hair!

Copycat Friday
GAH! I hate when I don't schedule my posts correctly and they don't post. I totally missed Copycat Friday, but I'm posting anyway, 'cuz my outfit was dern cute!
-------
Today I didn't copycat a person - I copied a pin!
I saw this cute little ensemble floating around Pinterest and it looked sooooooooo comfortable and cute! I knew I had just the pieces to recreate it.
It's casual, comfortable, sweet and a little romantic. It's perfect for my office as the days have cooled into the low 80's but the A/C in the office is still in high gear. Plus we all know I love my Toms and I'm ALWAYS trying to find fun new ways to wear them!

When was the last time you wore a skort?
Top: AE / Skort: Kohl's (similar) / Shoes: Toms
I haven't owned, or seen, a skort since I was in about 8th grade. I'm fairly certain that's when they stopped being "cool". But when I came across this little beauty at Kohl's I fell in LOVE all over again. Its denim and its short, and based on that it didn't feel entirely work appropriate. But when I saw those little shorts underneath I knew I could easily pull this off for work AND it would be a staple in my closet this summer for everything from picnics to baseball games to hanging around the house.
Sadly when I bought it in early spring, I wasn't anticipating the weight I'd gain before summer even started, and it sat unworn in my closet until I could hit the gym enough to button it up.
Finally - success!! And now I'll give it the attention it deserves, even into fall with some cute cable knit tights and a sweater. I thinks it's meant to be.
Am I the only one who hasn't seen a cute skort in YEARS?!
Linking up!

The return of the green jeans
Top: AE / Jeans: Old Navy / Shoes: Toms (similar cordones)
Hey I made it a whole FOUR weeks without wearing my green jeans!
But then, I heard them, from the depths of my dresser drawer...
They called to me:
"Katie! You know you want to wear me!" they said.
And I did.
So today they are making a more comfy outfit appearance. Remixing every week is really teaching me to re-wear clothes. Before I was afraid to repeat an item more then once every few months. Now I'm reusing my favorite items in new ways once every week or two! It's allowing me a lot more mileage out of my clothes, and experiment with them in new ways. When I first purchased these jeans back in early spring, I didn't think I'd wear them with anything but a plain oversized white tee. Now I've worn them like this and this and this. If you haven't challenged yourself to remix once a week yet, I highly recommend it!
Happy hump day ya'll!

Dallas night
Dress: c/o eShakti / Shoes: Toms / Earrings: Self made (look for a tutorial this week!) / Lips: Revlon's Just Bitten Lip Stain and Blame in 'Flame'
Happy hump day!
Wednesday has become one of my favorite days this summer because (and try not to judge me here) its DALLAS NIGHT! Yes. I just went there. Do ya'll remember the old school Dallas TV show with Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy? The whole 'Who shot J.R.?' conundrum? Well if you haven't been living under a rock you've probably seen they rebooted it with the ultra sex-ay Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson (both of Desperate Housewives fame).
I remember being just a tiny girl and watching the old school version with my mom. When the whole series came out on DVD we bought them all and rewatched. Its really a show that totally takes you away, its just so far out there that its awesome.
And, turns out, the reboot is exactly like it was 20+ years ago - a backstabbing, completely unrealistic, secrets and lies good time, and I LOVE it. Last week's episode ended pretty epically so I can't WAIT to watch tonight.
Do you guys have any guilty pleasure TV shows??
Linked up on The Pleated Poppy and Little Petrie today!

If you really knew me
Jacket: NY & Co. (similar) / Dress: Sonoma for Kohl's (similar) (similar) / Tee: Gap / Shoes: Toms
All my exciting news was yesterday so I don't have a lot today. But I decided in my effort to let you guys get to know me a little, I'd participate in the fun little game of 'If you really knew me' going around the bloggersphere lately! Ok GO:
If you really knew me...
You'd know Fall is my FAVORITE time of year. Nothing makes me happier then sweaters and jeans, football Sundays, crockpot meals, Halloween, crisp breezes and apple cider.
You'd know I'm a secret nerd. B and I are desperately trying to go to Comic-con next year. I'm also obsessed with all things Harry Potter.
You'd know I have to shower at night because I can't get up early enough to do it in the morning. Not so much a morning person.
You'd know I'm very crabby if I'm hungry.
You'd know I've grown a lot in the past couple years, and I feel more independent and sure about myself and my choices then ever.
You'd know I've spent my whole life in a constant state of trying to lose weight. A few months ago I finally decided to embrace my size, and instead focus on being healthy and strong.
What do people not know about you??
xo, Kathryn Laine.

The outfit that never was
Shirt: Merona for Target / Shorts: American Eagle (similar) / Shoes: Toms / Headband: Target (old)
This outfit was originally intended for work Friday, but Friday morning a wave of mono caught up with me and caused me to stay in bed until 11am. So much for work. I did, however, wear this out to grab a drink (of which I last until 11pm, and then promptly passed out. Guess I'm still not ready to par-tay.)
Happy Weekend Ya'll!

Friday Day and Night
Whos ready for some crazy posting action?!
I had good intentions when I took these photos Friday - I actually remembered to chronicle my 'going out' outfit as well! But the photo shopping failed to happen and instead I spent the weekend watching Greek on Netflix and eating (and drinking) loads of things that weren't on WeightWatchers. I also managed to get out Friday night with some co-workers and good friends though - hence the beer in hand. :) Hope ya'll had a great weekend too!

Sunday Funday in Walla Walla
Monserat De Lucca chain earrings
$55 - shopbop.com
I am legit kicking myself for not taking an outfit picture yesterday. I finally got a little funky with pattern mixing and then what do I do?! Forget to chronicle it. Naturally.
Ah well. Thanks to the wonders of Polyvore I threw together a little collage of the exact items I wore on me and B's little road trip to the adorable town of Walla Walla yesterday!

Slumming Tuesdays
Dress: Liz Claiborne for JCPenney / Cardigan: Abercrombie (similar) / Shoes: Toms
As I'm fairly certain its only females that breeze over this blog, I feel its a safe place to say that I'm feeling AWFUL today thanks to the arrival of a certain monthly gift. In Lehman's terms this also means incredibly bloaty and crampy and in no mood to put on a cute outfit and take pictures!
So in real life, I'm slumming it today with elastic waist pants and a giantly oversized tank, but thanks to the wonders of the interwebz, you all can imagine this pic from a few weeks ago is what I really look like today ;)
In brighter news, I'll be back tomorrow with my first non-iPhone pic! Hooray!

Green with Dress Envy Wednesday
Dress: Anthropologie circa 2011 (similar) / Shoes: Toms
Another crazy day, another belated post!
I'm basically in love with this dress. I got it last year for the first day of a new job -- seeing as I left that job 4 months later to move to Washington with B, I can only hope the job change juju has worn off!
It felt a little overly schnazzy for my work environment so I pared it down with my comfy Toms sneaks (and a jean jacket for when the a/c kicks on! Brr!). Cute AND comfortable.
Style win-win.

Post Vacation Blues
Outfit 1 - Dress: Target / Shoes: American Eagle / Scarf: American Eagle / Jacket: NY & Co. (similar)
Outfit 2 - Tee: American Eagle / Shorts: Target (similar) / Shoes: Toms / Purse: $10 store in Vegas circa 2008
Outfit 3 - Dress & Belt : Plain Ivey Jane
Happy Wednesday!!!
How I've missed you all and my blog the past several days. It felt wrong not being able to share my cute vacation outfits, but I was not about to spend $25/day on internet service at the hotel. I didn't miss ya'll that much ;)
So here's a brief look into some of my Vegas vacation style! I tried to pack super light so I made sure to pick outfits where I could reuse accessories. I love Vegas because frankly, anything goes!
I will say this much though, after an amazing vacation, its SO hard to get back in the swing of reality!

A new little Saturday treat...
Typically I reserve my Saturday's for cleaning, or crafts, or just lounging around. This means sweats or a t-shirt and jeans, and no need to chronicle my slubby outfit! But today I got the jeanius (get it jean-ius) idea to have a little guest bloggeroo action.
A little bit of background, I'm blessed and cursed to have a man that has a great personal style. He doesn't really care about labels, and is super into how his clothes look and feel and fit. He follows trends like I do, but also works in a super casual environment, also like I do! Now the curse side is, unlike most men who have a rotation of 20 t-shirts and 2 pairs of jeans, B has an insane amount of clothes... and we share a closet. Blast!
Alas, due to his wonky work schedule he actually works Saturdays, so my Saturday's will now be devoted to HIS personal style. Isn't he a stud? Not that I'm biased or anything... Enjoy! :)

GO BLACKHAWKS! Friday
Shirts: (Button up) Burlington Coat Factory 2011 (Tee) Hawks Pro Shop / Jeans: Rock & Republic for Kohl's / Shoes: Toms
BUT -- Ok ok, so I know I live in Washington now, but listen, Washington doesn't have an NHL team, and I'm not just going to give up on my hometown team! Chicago Blackhawks for life baby!! The Stanley Cup playoffs are happening and as of Saturday the series is tied up 1-1 for the Hawks and the Phoenix Coyotes. Its been exciting so far!!
Alas, this is not a sports blog so lets get to the real dirt here -- my version of cute sports fan! You CAN represent your favorite team fashionably. Please ignore the rat's nest hair. Sadly I woke up late and after my workout I didnt have time to wash it. Ew.
Hope you all HAD a lovely Friday and a great weekend!
