It's been a little while since I've worn my green jeans. Since I got them last spring and wore them all summer, I thought itd be fun to see how I could 'fall' them up a bit. Turns out when you pair them with a super neutral sweater its pretty easy, but nonetheless, I love this outfit. It was simple and fun, and super comfortable. I can't get enough of my moccasins for fall either, they are litrally (Parks & Rec anyone?) the perfect fall shoe.

On a slightly more personal note, yesterday was day one of Weight Watchers for me. In a nutshell, I've gained 28 lbs. (TWENTY EIGHT POUNDS!!!) in the past year. I've had success with Weight Watchers in the past, so I'm pretty stoked about doing it again!

I have raved about www.stylitics.com before, and you are about to hear it some more. Awhile back, they ran a little contest for you to send them an item in your virtual closet that you needed help styling. I sent them these green jeans, and while I didn't win the contest, they still looked in my closet and sent me 2 or 3 recommendations on how to style them with things I already own. Epic. This outfit is the result of one of those recommendations and I'm COMPLETELY in love with it. The colors work great together and it was super comfortable. Stylitics win.

Seriously though, if you are into planning your outfits ahead of time and seeing how much you really have in your closet - start a Stylitics account! Add clothes, play, mix and match, plan your whole weeks worth of outfits on Sunday night (yes I do that, stop judging me).

Happy Friday ya'll!

Thought you'd get through a whole week without seeing a pair of my colored jeans, did you?
C'mon now, you know I can't let that happen! Green jeans it is!

This weekend we are heading to the other side of the mountains to show my bro Seattle, and really to spend some time there ourselves. I'm looking forward to playing tourist! I already left my heart in Portland a couple months ago when we spent a long weekend there, but I feel Seattle may have a similar effect. The boys are staying for the Seattle/Packers game Monday, but I'll hightail it back in time for the work week. Stupid work! Any Seattle-ites have any recommendations of fun places to check out?

The return of the green jeans

Hey I made it a whole FOUR weeks without wearing my green jeans!
But then, I heard them, from the depths of my dresser drawer...
They called to me:
"Katie! You know you want to wear me!" they said.

And I did.

So today they are making a more comfy outfit appearance. Remixing every week is really teaching me to re-wear clothes. Before I was afraid to repeat an item more then once every few months. Now I'm reusing my favorite items in new ways once every week or two! It's allowing me a lot more mileage out of my clothes, and experiment with them in new ways. When I first purchased these jeans back in early spring, I didn't think I'd wear them with anything but a plain oversized white tee. Now I've worn them like this and this and this. If you haven't challenged yourself to remix once a week yet, I highly recommend it!

Thursday Remix

Happy Thursday yall! Oh man, Thursday already?! Another week flown by, and another week I am not complaining. B will be working all weekend so I hope to get some serious reading done. I'm on (nerd alert) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and so far I feel like the book is nothing like the movie -- and that's why I love it! There are still some surprised in the HP sphere that were left unknown until I started reading the books. 


Ok, done geeking out. You know what I hate? Coupons from my favorite stores. 
Am I the only one that feels a twinge of horror mixed with guilt when you receive a really good coupon in the mail? It's because I know, in that moment, that this coupon will get used. It will not go on to live in the trash bin where it should, it will not be overlooked and tossed to the side. It will be happily used until my online shopping cart can hold no more. This is a problem when I'm trying to pay down my store cards already. But yesterday I got a FOURTY PERCENT OFF coupon for American Eagle. 40%. Off. Of cute basics and fall sweaters. And perhaps a colored jean or two. Oh man. My credit card is going to get a workout on this one. And I slightly hate myself for it. (But at least I'll look really good whilst I hate myself.) ;)


On to the outfit! This is the first time I've actually worn color with my green jeans and I love it. Its simple and not to loud but I really like mixing them up! What should I mix next week?? I'm thinking Tank or Cardi. Opinions??

Here we are again! Today I'm remixing my top from last week's maxi dress turned skirt shenanigans. Remember how much I love my green jeans? Here they are again dressing up my simple white top all fancy style. I love you colored jeans. What part of my outfit should I mix next week?!

Repeat outfit alert!!

You may remember this pretty much exact outfit from here, and the jeans from another day here. This is def. one of my favorite outfits of the moment, but when I pulled my trusty green jeans out to wear today I realized, even if I wanted to style them different, I didn't know how. The problem is, the pants are a little tight in the waist (hello muffin top), so I can't wear them the same way all you skinny minnies can! I thought about a loose tee and my jean jacket but its too warm for that today. Maybe next time! Until then I'll just be a repeat offender!

Does anyone have any suggestions for a new (loose) way to wear these pants??

I'm 100% on board with the bright ankle jeans trend. Cannot get enough - I want these in every color!! I don't know why Old Navy doesn't have the green ones I'm wearing on their web site (sorry!)... but I just got them in store a week or so ago - on special for $25! Total steal. I'm completely in love!
