Copycatted

Sweater: Target - old (similar) / Shirt: Kohls (similar) / Jeans: AE / Mocs: Minnetonka

I got the inspiration for this look when I saw it on Ms. Franziska over at Franish - she has a super cute blog and great real-girl style! I fell in love with the jewel toned color combo and I realized I already had all the pieces to recreate it. I decided to go flares over skinnies for an even more casual look, but I think it still has the same effect. Thanks for the inspiration lady!

So our move is picking up steam - we have our house hunting trip to Lexington planned out and our realtor there is on the hunt for a good rental for us. B has his start date and travel arrangements. I got a vet appointment set up to get my kittehs ready and get some sedatives for the flight, and I ordered another Sleepypod Air (we flew them separately last time so we used the same one for each flight!) -- sidenote, if you are ever traveling with your small pet in-cabin I HIGHLY recommend these. They are the perfect size and they are lined with super cozy fleece/fur stuff. They are easy to carry and the dark mesh kept my girls calm (for the most part. When the sedatives wore off mid-flight Lilly got a little chatty, but that's a story for another time.)

Anywho, its getting a little nutso around here, so you should probably follow my twitter to keep up with me! Do it, do it!

Have a happy Friday y'all!

Couch blogging

Top: CAbi / Jeans: Rock & Republic for Kohl's / Mocs: Minnetonka / Scarf: Forever 21 (similar)

Last weekend my friend took me to the CAbi end of season sale here in the Tri. First, it was nuts. All the ladies in the area that have held CAbi parties were invited, and told to bring friends. It was at someones house, and was just racks and racks of leftover clothes in her basement, all from the fall/winter season that were on mega sale. We arrived about an hour into the sale, and everything was already picked over. Women were carrying out bags upon bags of clothes, and one can only assume they grabbed whatever they could in their size and and took off! While there wasnt a ton of options, I did manage a few good deals - this top being one of them! It originally retailed for $84, and I got it for $30! Score!

Anywho, I'm blogging from my couch today, living the dream in my kitty print sweatpants, watching old episodes of Ghost Lab on Netflix and drinking coffee with my sugar free peppermint mocha creamer. I'm off until the day after Christmas and I fully intend on spending the majority of the next 5 days in this exact spot. Only the sweatpants will change. Maybe.

Hope y'all have a relaxing and peaceful weekend before the holiday!!

Playing tourist

Top: Kohl's / Jeans: Old Navy / Flats: Target

Happy Friday ya'll!

Thought you'd get through a whole week without seeing a pair of my colored jeans, did you?
C'mon now, you know I can't let that happen! Green jeans it is!

This weekend we are heading to the other side of the mountains to show my bro Seattle, and really to spend some time there ourselves. I'm looking forward to playing tourist! I already left my heart in Portland a couple months ago when we spent a long weekend there, but I feel Seattle may have a similar effect. The boys are staying for the Seattle/Packers game Monday, but I'll hightail it back in time for the work week. Stupid work! Any Seattle-ites have any recommendations of fun places to check out?

Do ya'll have any fun weekend plans??

And, if you haven't already, don't forget to enter the amazeballs giveaway happening over at Shanna's blog!

And now, I'll leave you with this. Quite possibly my favorite kitteh video of all time. She clearly choreographed her fail for our entertainment. Thanks kitteh! (And I hope you survived the fall!)

Have a beautiful weekend friends!!

Mustard and Plums

Dress: Target / Cardi: Maurices (similar) / Scarf: Kohl's / Shoes: Target (similar)

It's been a minute since I've worn this dress. I wore it lots in the late spring/early summer, and now its been hanging in my closet since July, waiting for a fresh wear. I don't know that this outfit is mind blowing or anything, but I do know that I still love this dress and this off-kilter color, and I didn't know how much I'd love purple with it! Don't you love when you randomly come across new color combinations??

Gotta do much more then believe if we wanna see the world change

Top: LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's / Pants: Gap (similar) / Shoes: AE

Its been one of 'those days' today. So I don't really have a ton to share other then -- here's my outfit! Its exceptionally hard to go back to work after a long weekend isn't it? That's why I decided to head back in something comfy. Voila!

Hopefully I'll be less stressed and a tad happier tomorrow ya'll. Thanks for bearing with me!

I look like who?!

Cardi: NY & Co. (similar) / Tank: Target / Pants: AE / Shoes: Target

I was really feeling this outfit. The tones were pretty and the pattern was great, it was flowy and tight in all the right places... all in all I felt pretty good walking out the door for work, which to me, is what fashion is all about.

Then, as I went into the kitchen to grab my coffee and B says: "You look really pretty today baby! (awww)
.....You look like the Joker!" (WHAT?!)

Um. Excuse me?

I'm just going to assume its due to the color scheme more then the actual look. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Thanks honey!

Monotony

Dress: Mudd for Kohl's / Sweater: Sonoma for Kohl's (last season) / Shoes: Mossimo via Target (similar and SUPER cute)

Do you ever have a month or two where life just gets away from you? You get lost in the monotony of day-to-day and then one day you wake up, and the month is gone and you feel as though you did nothing even though you were busy all the time? That's how I feel this month. B is also in transition with his shift at work and we both have so much going on at work, we barely see each other. I'm passed out by the time he gets home, and he's still sleeping when I leave in the morning. But the up side to that madness is soon we will have fairly normal weekends together!!

So my outfit. Inneresting mix, no? I wasn't really planning on wearing this sweater with this dress, but when I put on the dress in the morning it seemed a tad short for work. I can pretty much wear whatever I want, but I dont want to be 'that girl'.. youknowwhatimean. It ended up being a pretty comfy outfit other then the fact I wanted to sit indian style all.day.long. and I couldn't due to the short nature of the dress. Oh the woes of being a woman.

xo, Katie

A belated casual Friday

Polo: Sonoma via Kohls / Pants: Gap - super old / Flips: American Eagle

Whew I fell a little behind last week. It happens, right?!
In any case, theres nothing special about this outfit other then it was insanely comfortable and made for a lovely casual Friday ensemble. Hooray!

Am I the only one that TOTALLY dresses down when Friday comes around?!

Hey lovely lady bloggers! Lets be friends!

Floral Tuesday

Dress: Maurices (similar) / Cardigan: New York & Co. (similar) / Shoes: Mossimo for Target / Earrings: Target circa 2002

We survived Monday and made it to Tuesday ya'll!

The sun isn't out here, which makes me super sad, but the high is supposed to be 75 and I'm ok with that! So yesterday I broke out the sandals, and today... I broke out the bare legs!! Which is great, but it reminded me of one thing -- I supremely need a tan!! Hopefully a trip to Vegas in a couple weeks will remedy that :)

This is my first Everybody, Everywear - check it out!

Casual Friday

Tee: Loud Lion / Sweater: New York & Company (similar) / Pants: Gap circa 2004 / Shoes: Mossimo for Target

Casual Friday in an already casual work environment is quite the conundrum. Nonetheless people dress especially down on Friday's, myself included. I rarely wear a full on t-shirt to work, even on Friday, but this lucky lady works with a lovely girl who (with her fiance, soon to be hubby!) owns a little t-shirt shop called Loud Lion. This makes it acceptable for all of us in the office who own Loud Lion tees to sport them with pride! Score!

Lilac Tuesday

Skirt: American Eagle (similar) / Tee: American Eagle / Cardigan: American Eagle (similar) / Shoes: Mossimo for Target / Jeans: Rock & Republic for Kohl's / Necklace: American Eagle

Happy Tuesday!

I'm still trying to get the hang of remembering to chronicle my outfits! We went out for B's birthday dinner last night, and I completely forgot to take a picture of my cute outfit. Tsk tsk!

Today I started the day wanting to dress a little nicer today for a mid-day client meeting, but also wanted to be comfortable for the anticipated 70 degree weather! I paired a simple summery skirt with a tucked-in oversize tee and cardi, making the perfect casual yet professional outfit.
By lunch time I was struggling with wanting to sit indian style (which i often do at work, dont judge me!) So on lunch at home I switched it up for some comfy jeans.

In both outfits I'm loving the lilac and navy mixed with a neutral sweater and patterned shoe.
What do you guys think?
