Mad about Monochromatic
I really had to hold myself back from the whole "I'm blue da-ba-dee da-ba-di" thing, but if I'm being honest it's all I can think about with this outfit. *facepalm*. I got these jeans from that CAbi party I was raving about awhile back and I LOVED them at the party... then I got my order and was so disappointed with the fit. Then I realized, they are just super long, and thats ok, every girl needs at least one pair of jeans that she can wear with heels! So I pulled out my new little AE bootie wedges and history was made.... Ok maybe not history, but a really cute outfit!
Does anyone else do that? Try something on and think you are in love, only to get it home and have it hang in your closet for eternity because you can't figure out if you really like it in the grand scheme of your closet? First world problems. For realz.
On another note, its almost Thanksgiving!! B and I don't have any real plans, just to cook a little dinner, drink a little hot toddy and enjoy the long weekend. Much needed, since I'm still a tad under the weather. Ah well. What are ya'lls plans for Turkey Day??

Win-Win
Cardi: AE (similar) / Top: Target (similar) / Jeans: Old Navy / Shoes: Keds (old) (similar and STINKING adorable)
Happy Friday ya'll!
We survived yet another week!
Yesterday we had an on-site meeting with a client that wasn't entirely thrilled our company. I wanted to wear something professional to assert myself, but casual (they are a jeans and tee environment too), but still young and creative to reflect our company. This outfit totally worked for me. Plus it was super comfortable and warm for the crazy chilly morning air, and I could remove the cardi in the afternoon when it warmed up (a little). Outfit win. It was also a client win as we totally won them back over with our wit and charm. Er, something.
I spent the back end of this week trying to get back in my groove, and I think it's working. I've been to the gym everyday (if it seems like overkill, trust me, it's not. If you only knew how tight my pants are currently fitting..), I'm actually putting a little bit of effort into my outfits AND remembering to take photos, AND blogging them! Honestly though, I'm EXHAUSTED from all the effort. It doesn't seem to matter if I go to bed at 10pm (too much sleep) or 1:00am (too little sleep) or any time in between, I just can NOT peel myself out of bed in the morning. Does anyone have a good fix for actually waking up when your alarm goes off? And not being so tired in the morning?! Its killing me.
Anyhooters, I digress. B and I are going out to one of my favorite (and most fancy!) places in the Tri to celebrate our anniversary this evening. Other then that, this weekend we are going go look for rental houses, make some yummy chili, and probably play some games! We are making a concerted effort to chill the next few weeks instead of going out and spending our moolah, as we'll likely need some of it for a deposit on a house soon!
Ok time for some work for this girl, hope you all have a beautiful weekend :)

Thursday Remix
Chambray top: Kohls / Tee: Abercrombie / Skirt: Target / Shoes: Target / Bracelet: Maurices
Today I decided to go for remixing my chambray button up tank. The outfit is nothing really extrordinary but it was comfortable for my PMS-ing and didn't make me feel like I weighed a million pounds, and sometimes, thats all you can ask for!
I'm super stoked for the weekend, another one that will be spent at the Gorge. This time seeing Dave Matthews Band (B is obsessed. No really. He's one of those mega fans thats seen over 60 shows. And yes, I'm going to marry that.) Anyway its going to be just he and I so I'm looking forward to our little weekend camping/good tunes getaway!
Ok thats all I've got. Anyone else get PMS brain? My short term memory is shot and I can think of absolutely nothing witty or creative to share. Sorry ya'll. Maybe post-relaxing weekend I'll feel a little more like myself!

Thursday Remix
Maxi: Kohls (similar) / Tee: Gap (similar) / Chambray top: Kohls (similar) / Sandals: AE (similar)
And we're back! I decided to start fresh and mix up an item from last weeks outfit. I always struggle with new ways to wear a maxi, so I thought I'd challenge myself a tad and see how I could make it feel like a completely different outfit. It may not be totally different, but before blogging I never would have thought to add all these layers!
As a reminder, heres how I wore it last week:
Ya'll I'm EXHAUSTED today. I spent the evening at the emergency vet when I noticed my little booger Rosie was crouched all over the apartment trying to tinkle. Turns out she has a UTI, so shes on meds now, and B has a pinched nerve in his neck/back that's hitting its worst point, and making it impossible for him to sleep because he's in so much pain. I feel awful for them both and I'm completely stressed. Needless to say the Kathryn Laine household is a bit of a cluster right now.
I need a nap. And something with rum in it. Stat.

Step away from the moccasins
Top: Target / Crops: Maurices / Shoes: Minnetonka for AE / Bag: Little Black Bag find
FRIDAY! Woop woop! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say few things make me happier then Friday. (Well ok, Friday afternoon makes me a little happier). But I especially love busy Friday's, because I know my workday will fly and then I'll be home with B ready to do the weekend thang! Its supposed to be hotter then the dickens (does anyone know what a dickens is?) again in the Tri, and I'm think some SERIOUS pool time will be in order. B refreshed our wine stores already so I'm ready for a relaxing weekend of pool, wine and reading! What are ya'lls plans??
As for my outfit.. its day two of the mocs and glasses. I believe these are going to be two accessories I will be obsessed with all fall, so be prepared to see plenty of them! They are really the only interesting thing about this outfit, it was a pretty mellow, casual day for me.
In other news...
This kitteh is having a real bad day.
Go forth and conquer your Friday! :)

The outfit that never was
Shirt: Merona for Target / Shorts: American Eagle (similar) / Shoes: Toms / Headband: Target (old)
This outfit was originally intended for work Friday, but Friday morning a wave of mono caught up with me and caused me to stay in bed until 11am. So much for work. I did, however, wear this out to grab a drink (of which I last until 11pm, and then promptly passed out. Guess I'm still not ready to par-tay.)
Happy Weekend Ya'll!

Repeat Offender Wednesday
Jeans: Old Navy (similar) / Shirt: Merona for Target / Shoes: Mossimo for Target (similar) / Bracelet: Maurices
Repeat outfit alert!!
You may remember this pretty much exact outfit from here, and the jeans from another day here. This is def. one of my favorite outfits of the moment, but when I pulled my trusty green jeans out to wear today I realized, even if I wanted to style them different, I didn't know how. The problem is, the pants are a little tight in the waist (hello muffin top), so I can't wear them the same way all you skinny minnies can! I thought about a loose tee and my jean jacket but its too warm for that today. Maybe next time! Until then I'll just be a repeat offender!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a new (loose) way to wear these pants??

Red Accent Thursday
Top: New York & Co. circa 2010 (similar) / Jeans: Rock & Republic for Kohl's / Shoes: Michael Kors
Nothin' to see here folks!
I've had a crazy week getting back into the swing of things and my focus has been more on comfort and less on style, and let me tell you - I hate it! But it happens to us all sometimes. Next week I promise I'll be back into the swing of things.
I did notice I accented with a whole lotta red yesterday though... nails, ring, shoes, earrings... even my phone for crying out loud! You wouldn't know that's my favorite color, right?!

Cham-bray Tues-day
Shirt: Target (similar) / Jeans: Old Navy (similar) / Shoes: Mossimo for Target / Earrings: Marlyn Schiff Turq Diamond Shape Danglers (from a Stich Fix!)
Holy hot day in the Tri-Cities. Thats 3 in a row! I could get used to this! If only our apartment's pool would open...
I'm rocking my favorite new spring pants for the second time (1st time here) this season and I'm still in love.
I got the earrings above from my first Stitch Fix - I never would have picked them out for myself but once I tried them out with some of the pieces I already had at home, I couldn't pass them up. They are going to be a perfect accessory with so much this summer!
What trends have you fallen hard for this season?
